Copperas Cove, Texas
Copperas Cove, or "the Cove" to locals, is the largest city in Coryell County and part of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood metropolitan area. It sits in the Five Hills area, between the Lampasas River and the Cowhouse Creek valleys.
Copperas Cove is served by the Copperas Cove Independent School District, which includes seven elementary schools, two junior highs and one high school.
The city hosts several annual events, including the Ogletree Gap Heritage Festival in the fall and the Krist Kindl Markt, a German-themed Christmas market with live music and a parade. The Copperas Cove Classic Road Race is an 83-mile winter bike race through the surrounding hills. Recreation includes the city park, tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, public swimming pools, a public library and an 18-hole golf course.
Copperas Cove sits directly off Highway 190 with quick access to Fort Hood, which makes it a common choice for buyers who want a shorter commute to post.
